LINK-PP LS-CW531G-40C is a hot-pluggable 1G SFP transceiver that brings together CWDM wavelength assignment, extended 40 km reach, and real-time diagnostic functions. It supports standard duplex LC cabling and fully complies with the SFP MSA for seamless deployment in existing systems.
This SFP module features a hot-pluggable mechanical design and follows the SFP Multi-Source Agreement pinout and interface specifications. It can be inserted or removed while the host equipment remains powered, simplifying field maintenance.
Operating at a line rate of 1Gb/s, this module delivers Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for trunk links that span between separate buildings. Its typical deployment includes campus or enterprise networks requiring point-to-point connections.
CWDM technology allows this module to operate on a specific wavelength channel within an 18-channel grid (1270–1610nm). By using different channels, multiple transceivers can share the same fiber pair, increasing overall link capacity without laying new cables.
The selected 1530nm channel falls in the lower-loss region of standard single-mode fibers, which helps maintain signal integrity over long distances. This wavelength is also allocated for CWDM systems, ensuring compatibility with standard multiplexers.
This transceiver is specified for fiber spans up to 40km, covering medium to long distance routes. Its optical power budget is designed to overcome the loss inherent in such long single-mode links.
Its duplex LC connector provides a secure, polarized connection for both transmit and receive fibers in one small footprint. This interface is widely adopted in patch panels and distribution frames, ensuring easy cable assembly.
Internal digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM) function tracks operating temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, and both TX/RX optical power. The module implements the SFF-8472 standard, allowing host systems to read these parameters via the I²C bus for proactive link management.
The LS-CW531G-40C 1G SFP optical transceiver holds major international safety and quality approvals, including ISO 9001, CE, RoHS, and FCC. These certifications ensure that the product meets high standards for performance, safety, and environmental protection.
Every module undergoes strict physical and performance testing before leaving the factory. This comprehensive process guarantees long-term stability and optimal efficiency in demanding network environments.
Official compliance verifies that the transceiver meets international regulatory and technical standards. These recognized qualifications validate the module's adherence to required operational and safety guidelines.
The transceiver is fully tested and verified to work seamlessly across a wide range of brand-name switches and routers. This ensures hassle-free plug-and-play integration into your existing network infrastructure.

Q: We plan to slot this transceiver into an existing 8-channel passive CWDM Mux/Demux to expand building-to-building fiber capacity; does the 1530nm wavelength match standard ITU-T grid filters? By B***s on 2026-05-21
A: Yes, 1530nm is precisely aligned with the standard ITU-T CWDM grid. This module features a precision DFB laser and works seamlessly with standard passive CWDM Mux/Demux units, ensuring excellent channel isolation and minimal adjacent-channel crosstalk. By admin on 2026-05-22
Q: We have a secondary off-site SAN array running 1.063Gbps Fibre Channel for remote data replication over dark fiber — is this module compatible with that protocol? By T***n on 2026-03-05
A: Yes, the LS-CW531G-40C SFP module supports 1.063Gbps Fibre Channel as well as 1.25Gbps optical links. It provides stable, low-latency transmission for off-site storage replication and long-haul backup links up to 40km. By admin on 2026-03-06
Q: In a dense, fully loaded 48-port aggregation switch, will multiple LS-CW531G-40C modules running simultaneously stay within safe operating temperature limits? By C***k on 2025-12-22
A: Yes, the module features low power consumption on a standard +3.3V supply and dissipates heat very efficiently. As long as your rack cabinet maintains standard indoor data center airflow, the internal temperature will remain well within the 0°C to +70°C range. By admin on 2025-12-23
Q: We are connecting two data closets located 30km apart over outdoor dark fiber — what exact fiber cable and connector type do we need for this module? By S***t on 2025-07-13
A: This module requires standard single-mode fiber terminated with a duplex LC connector. It offers an optical budget sufficient for links up to 40km; for your 30km run, please verify that your total end-to-end link loss (including splices and patch panels) does not exceed the module's maximum loss budget.
