For the EX-SFP-GE40KCW1530 1530nm CWDM module, the optical design pairs a DFB laser with a PIN photodiode, both optimized for single-mode fiber operation over a maximum reach of 40km. Real-time DDM is implemented as a standard feature, offering dynamic readouts of five key diagnostic parameters without interrupting traffic. The module operates from a single 3.3 V supply, uses a standard LC duplex connector, and is specified for an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.

Juniper EX-SFP-GE40KCW1530 Compatible LINK-PP module is a hot-pluggable 1G SFP transceiver that brings together CWDM wavelength assignment, extended 40 km reach, and real-time diagnostic functions. It supports standard duplex LC cabling and fully complies with the SFP MSA for seamless deployment in existing systems.
This SFP module features a hot-pluggable mechanical design and follows the SFP Multi-Source Agreement pinout and interface specifications. It can be inserted or removed while the host equipment remains powered, simplifying field maintenance.
Operating at a line rate of 1Gb/s, this module delivers Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for trunk links that span between separate buildings. Its typical deployment includes campus or enterprise networks requiring point-to-point connections.
CWDM technology allows this module to operate on a specific wavelength channel within an 18-channel grid (1270-1610nm). By using different channels, multiple transceivers can share the same fiber pair, increasing overall link capacity without laying new cables.
The selected 1530nm channel falls in the lower-loss region of standard single-mode fibers, which helps maintain signal integrity over long distances. This wavelength is also allocated for CWDM systems, ensuring compatibility with standard multiplexers.
This transceiver is specified for fiber spans up to 40km, covering medium to long distance routes. Its optical power budget is designed to overcome the loss inherent in such long single-mode links.
Its duplex LC connector provides a secure, polarized connection for both transmit and receive fibers in one small footprint. This interface is widely adopted in patch panels and distribution frames, ensuring easy cable assembly.
Internal digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM) function tracks operating temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, and both TX/RX optical power. The module implements the SFF-8472 standard, allowing host systems to read these parameters via the I²C bus for proactive link management.
