SFP-GIG-57CWD40 operates as a 1G SFP transceiver tuned to the 1570nm CWDM grid, housing a DFB laser and a PIN photodiode for optical-to-electrical conversion. It supports SMF transmission runs up to 40km, with link budgets calibrated for standard single-mode fibers. Real-time digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM) is embedded, providing instant readouts of temperature, supply voltage, bias current, TX power, and RX power.

Alcatel-Lucent SFP-GIG-57CWD40 Compatible LINK-PP integrates a 1570nm CWDM laser, a 40km reach, and a duplex LC interface into a standard 1G SFP transceiver. It supports single-mode fiber transmission and includes real-time digital diagnostic monitoring for operational visibility. This module covers all essential physical-layer specifications for dependable point-to-point links.
The SFP-GIG-57CWD40 optical module features a hot-pluggable SFP footprint that allows installation or replacement without powering down the host system. It is fully compliant with the SFP MSA, guaranteeing mechanical and electrical interoperability with a wide range of networking equipment. Its standardised pinout and control interface simplify system integration.
For inter-site fiber routes, this transceiver delivers a stable 1Gbps data rate over extended spans. It provides enough bandwidth for common campus, metropolitan, or enterprise backbone connections between distant facilities.
CWDM technology allows this module to occupy a designated channel in a multi-wavelength transport system. By using coarse wavelength division multiplexing, it helps consolidate several services onto a single fibre pair, thereby increasing overall fibre utilisation without adding new cables.
The 1570nm emission wavelength is part of the standard CWDM grid, ensuring compatibility with common multiplexers and demultiplexers. This specific band experiences relatively low attenuation in single-mode fibre, contributing to the module’s effective reach.
Transmission distances of up to 40km are achievable over single-mode fibre with this module. Its optical power budget and receiver sensitivity are tuned to maintain a clean signal across that distance under typical link conditions.
The duplex LC connector provides the physical interface for separate transmit and receive fibre paths. This widely adopted connector ensures quick, secure mating with most patch panels and optical distribution frames.
Built-in digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM) offers real-time access to critical operating parameters. Compatible with SFF-8472 digital diagnostics, it reports temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, and both TX/RX optical power levels directly through the management interface.
