Our enclosure is only 14mm tall. Will this jack fit with a light pipe?

The jack is 13.45mm from the PCB surface, so in a 14mm internal height you have 0.55mm, which is not enough for a light pipe housing. Options are a lower profile jack, a right angle light pipe that comes out of the side, or move the LEDs to a front panel board and use a plain jack. Do not try to compress a light pipe against the jack, it will crack the LED lens.

What is the isolation voltage and do we need an external TVS on the cable side?

The magnetics are rated 1500VAC for 60 seconds. That covers basic isolation for a 10/100 port, but it does not protect against a lightning surge on a long outdoor cable. For anything leaving the building, add a TVS array on the cable side after the magnetics, and keep the trace from the jack to the TVS short. The transformer will pass a hipot test, it will not survive a 1kV surge on its own.

Does the integrated magnetics support PoE at 15W?

No, this is a non PoE part. The centre taps and the winding are not rated for the DC current of 802.3af. For a PoE port use a PoE rated jack with a transformer designed for the bias, typically a larger core and thicker wire. Running 15W through this part will heat the winding to the point of failure over months, and it is not a warranty case.

Can this SMT jack survive a second reflow for double sided assembly?

Yes, the housing is rated for three passes at 260℃ peak. Keep the peak under 10 seconds and let the board cool between passes. What you should avoid is a selective solder or hot air rework directly on the housing, that will deform the plastic and shift the LED. If you need to rework the jack, use a preheater from the bottom and a low airflow nozzle.

Why 6p8c instead of 8p8c, and will a standard RJ45 plug still work?

6p8c means six contact positions loaded in an eight position body, so it mates with a standard RJ45 plug but only four of the eight contacts are populated, which is all 10/100 needs. A standard Cat5e plug works fine, you just do not get the gigabit pairs. The advantage is a smaller body and lower cost. If you might ever need gigabit on the same port, buy the 8p8c version instead.
