We installed these CWDM modules as part of a phased data-center edge refresh. The sites do not need 10G on every route, but they do require resilient, monitored 1G connectivity across long single-mode fiber runs. The 1490nm CWDM channel allowed us to retain existing MUX/DEMUX hardware while adding capacity without trenching new fiber. From an operations standpoint, DOM is the biggest benefit. We set monitoring thresholds around receive optical power and watched the results through our normal device-management workflow. During burn-in and traffic testing, the optics remained stable and there were no link flaps. The compact SFP form factor also made replacement simple in populated switch racks. Great balance of reach, diagnostics, and cost.

We deployed LS-CW491G-80C 1G 1490nm CWDM SFP transceivers across a multi-building industrial campus. The longest installed route was just under 67km after accounting for the patch-panel path, splices, and CWDM MUX/DEMUX insertion loss. The 80km optical budget gave us the operational headroom we wanted rather than designing right at the limit. During commissioning, we checked the DDM/DOM readings from each endpoint and compared the reported TX/RX values against our optical test results. The modules reported consistent information, and the links stayed free of packet loss and CRC alarms under production traffic. For indoor equipment rooms with 0 – 70°C conditions, this is a dependable 1490nm CWDM SFP for 1G backbone expansion.
