Yes. The module’s real-time DDM function can report operating temperature through compatible host equipment. Your NOC can set thresholds or monitor trends to identify abnormal temperature increases before the module reaches its rated limit.

We use 1G Fibre Channel between storage systems at two locations. Can this 1410nm CWDM SFP be used for that link?

Yes. The LS-CW411G-80C supports 1.063Gbps Fibre Channel and can be used for 1G Fibre Channel links over single-mode fiber. For a stable connection, use a matching 1410nm CWDM module at the other end.

Do we need a CWDM MUX/DEMUX to use this 1410nm SFP module?

A CWDM MUX/DEMUX is needed when multiple CWDM wavelengths share one pair of single-mode fibers. If this is a dedicated point-to-point fiber link using only one optical channel, the 1410nm modules can normally connect directly through duplex single-mode fiber without a MUX/DEMUX.

We already have duplex LC-to-LC single-mode patch cords in our network. Can we connect them directly to this 1410nm CWDM SFP?

Yes. The LS-CW411G-80C has a duplex LC interface and is designed for single-mode fiber. You can connect a standard duplex LC-to-LC single-mode patch cord directly to the module. Just make sure the fiber polarity is correct so the transmit and receive paths are properly matched.

Can this module be inserted while the switch is running, or do we need to power it off first?

This module has a hot-pluggable SFP design, so it can normally be inserted or removed while the switch is powered on. After installation, wait a few seconds for the device to detect the module and check the link status.

For a multi-building enterprise fiber refresh, we needed a 1G SFP transceiver that could preserve available fiber pairs and work within our existing CWDM design.
