Our colocation team used the LS-CW471G-80C in a 1G CWDM transport shelf connecting two metropolitan facilities. We chose the 1470nm wavelength specifically to fill an available channel rather than deploy another fiber pair. Installation was uncomplicated: insert the SFP, connect Duplex LC single-mode fiber through the CWDM MUX/DEMUX, verify wavelength mapping, and review DOM status. The DFB CWDM transmitter and PIN receiver performed as expected, with no unusual laser-temperature behavior during the acceptance test. It is not a substitute for an industrial -40 to 85°C module in exposed outdoor cabinets, but for climate-controlled data rooms it has delivered stable service at a sensible cost.
