LINK-PP LS-CW491G-80C is a 1G SFP module that features an SFP compliant footprint, CWDM 1490nm wavelength, 80km transmission distance, duplex LC interface, and DOM support. It is built for long-haul campus interconnects and efficient fiber utilization through wavelength multiplexing.
This module offers a hot-pluggable SFP footprint for easy field replacement. It is compliant with SFP MSA and SFF-8472, ensuring broad compatibility with standard networking platforms.
The module delivers a 1Gbps data rate, suitable for connecting remote campus buildings or distributed enterprise sites. It is targeted at long-haul links where stable gigabit throughput is required over extended distances.
CWDM technology enables the module to operate on a specific wavelength channel within a multiplexed system. This allows multiple transceivers at different wavelengths to share a single fiber pair, increasing overall fiber utilization.
The 1490nm wavelength is one of the standard CWDM channels defined by ITU-T G.694.2. It is used as the transmission carrier for this module, allowing it to be combined with other CWDM channels in the same network.
This optical transceiver supports optical links up to 80km over single-mode fiber. It provides sufficient optical power budget for typical long-haul campus or metro access deployments.
The module is equipped with a duplex LC connector, which is the industry standard for single‑mode fiber patch cords. This interface ensures straightforward connection to existing fiber plant without special adapters.
Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) provides real-time readings of transmitted and received optical power, laser bias current, temperature, and supply voltage. This feature helps network administrators monitor link health and diagnose faults promptly.

Q: Can this module be connected directly to regular single-mode fiber that is already installed in our network? By I***t on 2026-02-03
A: Yes. The LS-CW491G-80C 1G CWDM SFP is designed for single-mode fiber (SMF) and uses duplex LC connectors. It can be connected to standard single-mode fiber infrastructure, provided the fiber condition, connector quality, splice loss, and total link loss are within the optical power budget. Q: We are building an 80km CWDM ring. Do both ends of the link need to use 1490nm modules? By H***n on 2025-11-17
A: Yes. For a standard point-to-point duplex CWDM link, both ends should use the same 1490nm CWDM wavelength and compatible 1G SFP modules. If the link is carried through CWDM MUX/DEMUX equipment, make sure both modules are connected to the corresponding 1490nm channel ports. By admin on 2025-11-18
Q: Can this LS-CW491G-80C module be used with a CWDM MUX/DEMUX system, or is it only for direct fiber links? By J***l on 2025-04-21
A: It can be used in both scenarios. For a direct point-to-point link, connect two compatible 1490nm modules over duplex single-mode fiber. For a CWDM multiplexed network, connect the module to the 1490nm port of a compatible CWDM MUX/DEMUX to combine multiple wavelengths onto the same fiber pair. By admin on 2025-04-22
