We're using a mix of Cisco, HPE and Juniper equipment. How do we make sure the optic will be recognized correctly?

Yes. The module supports DOM/DDM through the SFF-8472 diagnostic interface. Supported host equipment can read parameters such as module temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, TX optical power and RX optical power for remote link monitoring and troubleshooting.
