Q: We plan to install these in outdoor fiber cabinets. Is this model suitable for that environment, and what should we watch during summer/winter operation? By E***s on 2026-02-21
A: This model has a 0 to 70°C operating temperature range, so the cabinet's actual internal temperature should stay within that range. It is not the industrial-temperature version of the product line. For outdoor cabinets, monitor enclosure temperature, ventilation, condensation, and optical levels, especially during seasonal temperature changes. If the cabinet can exceed 70°C or fall below 0°C, an industrial-temperature optic should be considered instead. By admin on 2026-02-22
Q: Our fiber route is much shorter than 100km, but the measured loss is relatively high. Can we use the 100km-rated version, or should we choose a shorter-distance optic? By E***y on 2025-12-30
A: The 100km rating does not mean the link must be 100km. What matters is whether the actual fiber loss stays within the module's optical budget and receiver limits. For this model, the specified TX power is 0 to +5dBm and receiver sensitivity is below -28dBm. Checking actual DOM TX/RX readings and the total link loss is the better way to validate the deployment. By admin on 2025-12-31
Q: We are replacing older 622Mbps optics across equipment from different vendors. What should we check before ordering a larger batch besides the basic speed and connector? By T***r on 2025-05-14
A: For a mixed-vendor deployment, check the host equipment's supported SFP coding and optical module compatibility first. It is also worth confirming the required wavelength, fiber type, link budget, and whether DOM/DDM monitoring is supported by the host switch. For a larger rollout, testing a few units on the actual switch platforms before the full purchase is recommended. By admin on 2025-05-14
